The information we collect

We collect and process your personal information mainly to contact you for the purposes of hiring you for a potential project. For this purpose, we will collect contact details including your name, email address, cell phone number, and possibly a showreel of the work you have previously completed. Thereafter, we would collect the data on your CV, as it is sent to us. Depending on the role you may be applying for, we might need to do a criminal / background check, should that be an MPAA requirement from the client. Once employed/hired, we would collect your ID details for PAYE and bank account details so you can be remunerated for your services. All of this information will be collected directly from you where you provide us with your personal details. Where possible, we will inform you what information you are required to provide to us and what information is optional.

From browser

We automatically receive and record Internet usage information on our server logs from your browser, such as your Internet Protocol address (IP address), browsing habits, click patterns, version of software installed, system type, screen resolutions, colour capabilities, plug-ins, language settings, cookie preferences, search engine keywords, JavaScript enablement, the content and pages that you access on the website, and the dates and times that you visit the website, paths taken, and time spent on sites and pages within the website (usage information). Please note that other websites visited before entering our website might place personal information within your URL during a visit to it, and we have no control over such websites. Accordingly, a subsequent website that collects URL information may log some personal information.

Definition of personal information

According to the Act “personal information” means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person. Further to the POPI Act, Midnight VFX also includes the following items as personal information:

• All addresses including residential, postal and email addresses.

• Change of name – for which require copies of the marriage certificate or official change of name document issued by Home Affairs (the state department).
